Do you got this? Ya, you got this!
When Moses said to God, "I can't do this! I am not good at public speaking or persuasive language," he wasn't being falsely humble. The man had grown up in the court of Pharoah! He was well accustomed to hearing great orators, scholars, and the like. He knew what he could do and it wasn't THAT! So, when the Lord God asked him to do this thing, he was rightly astonished and concerned. But then, I love what God says to him. He says, "Moses. Who made your mouth?"...
God is asking me now to do something really hard. It's scary, and I don't think I am capable. But I hear the Lord saying to me, "Olivia, who made your mouth?"
The rest of the story goes like this....Aaron, his brother, a Levite...and a person that the people could relate to and probably respected a LOT more than an upstart from the court of Pharoah who suddenly decided to grace them all with his presence and tell them what to do (totally being facetious here)...was the person appointed to speak the words. But the words came THROUGH Moses from THE WORD. God gave Moses the words, Aaron spoke them.
He is saying, "Who asked you to do this? Who made you? Did not I? Do you think I am going to ask you to do something and then say, K peace out! Good luck with that." No. He is saying, “I got you. You got this, and you DON'T have to do this alone.”
God is asking ME to do this hard and scary thing, but he isn't asking me to do it alone. He is reminding me that I have lots of Aarons in my life, around me, and in my own home that can help me through the tough moments.
God ALWAYS provides us with "Aarons" in our lives. I don't have to walk alone. I don't have to be a perfect mom. I CAN ask for help, and that doesn't mean I am incapable. I CAN take a day off and snuggle my babies, the dishes and laundry can wait. I CAN phone a friend when things feel like too much, they love me. I CAN and WILL continue to pray and TRUST but I can also remember my "Aaron's".
I can do hard things through Christ....and that strengthens me.
